One of the the important lessons we want to teach our boys around Christmas, is that giving is so much more satisfying than receiving. Like every parent I know, we love to give our kids Christmas presents. But one year, we decided not to.
We got a lot of criticism for that. But you know what? It was one of our best Christmases. And it was incredibly memorable (in a good way) to our kids. That year we took the money we would usually spend on presents and we let our kids pick out gifts from the Compassion International gift catalog—they picked chickens, and fresh water, and medical help for those who need it most.
Since then, whether or not we choose to do presents, we still pick out gifts from the Compassion Christmas catalog to help those in third world countries. Each year our kids still sit around scoping out the catalog with anticipation.
I want to raise kids who will be givers!
In the spirit of giving, I was excited to be asked to be a part of the Favorite Christmas Things giveaway. Why? Because it means I get to give one of you a couple of my favorite things! They are things that would be a blessing to any family this Christmas.
Blendtec Blender plus a Twister Jar
I absolutely adore my Blendtec Blender. Out of all of my kitchen appliances, this is the one that I use the most. I didn’t know what I was missing before I received mine! I use my blender for:
- homemade nut butter
- and more!
In addition to the blender and wildside jar shown, the winner will also receive a twister jar. If I’m making the 4 boys a smoothie, I break out the big wildside jar, but when I’m making one just for me the twister jar is just the right size. It’s also perfect for making nut butters. You will LOVE your blendtec!
Perfect Brand Hydrolyzed Collagen
Collagen is a unique superfood. It’s an important protein found in animal bones. While I sneak collagen into many different recipes (like my protein-packed pumpkin roll), the easiest way to include collagen in your families diet is just adding a scoop to every smoothie you make. Nobody will even know it’s there!
The quality of Perfect Brand supplements and products is out of this world! Why do I love them?
- Perfect Brand Hydrolyzed collagen is sourced from 100% grass-fed, Brazillian cows.
- It’s completely pesticide-free, hormone-free, and free of GMOs.
- This collagen has been lab tested to 97% protein.
- It has NO added ingredients.

A Free Gift for Everyone…
I did mention how much I like to give, right? My husband and I are giving away our new Christmas devotional this year. We had a blast singing carols and talking about their meaning with our kids a couple of years ago and decided it was something we’d love to share with our readers.
