Praise for “The Talk”:

“It’s a simple, user-friend guide to teaching your kids about a healthy view of biblical sexuality. Parents: Don’t waste time. Get a copy of Luke’s bible study and start teaching your kids today!” – Deepak Reju, President of the Biblical Counseling Coalition

This series of studies covers basic theological and biological concepts that children ages 6 to 10 can understand. Each study is anchored in a specific text of Scripture.

  • Lesson 1 deals with the differences between men and women, giving children a simple understanding of their own bodies and the differences between male and female sexual organs.
  • Lesson 2 discusses God’s command for the human race to multiply, giving children a basic understanding of sexual intercourse and how babies are conceived.
  • Lesson 3 addresses the development of human life in the womb, giving children a picture of the wonder of how babies grow and are born.
  • Lesson 4 deals with the intimacy that is created through sex, giving children an understanding of the goodness of sex in marriage and how it creates a strong bond between a man and a woman.
  • Lesson 5 discusses the sin of adultery, giving children a biblical understanding of why it is wrong.
  • Lesson 6 addresses the difficult subject of rape and sexual abuse, reminding children of the importance of talking to their parents about anyone who touches them in an inappropriate manner.
  • Lesson 7 deals with the importance of honoring God with one’s body because God has bought us with a price.

Each lesson has an opening discussion topic, a Scripture reading, an explanation of the passage, questions to ask your children, and a prayer. Many lessons are also contain line drawings of male and female anatomy, egg and sperm, and images of how a baby develops in the womb.

Straight out of the Word! Not watered down. Full of wisdom in the first part on how to deal with the awkardness we felt … And might still feel as parents! I wish my parents got hold of this book. If you don’t teach your children society will! It’s biblical. Practical and to be used as a family study. Open and honest. Easy to understand.

We have been looking for a book like this – we found it. We have been using it with our boys and it is excellent. We like how it is clear, biblical, discreet, appropriate. It makes it so much easier to talk and teach about this critical topic. Highly recommended.

This is exactly what we were looking for in a resource for ‘the talk.’ It is easy to use, clear, Bible-based, & God-honoring. I like how the lessons give just enough information for younger children yet are a great springboard for further discussion with older children.

This book was purchased for me (a mom) to talk to four sons. The lessons are simple, direct and clear. There is no “humor” but just clear wisdom for the parents. The pictures are well done and help with the process. The script gives the parent the words needed. This is a wonderful start to our dialogue about intimacy in marriage, where it should be.

I found this to be a perfect resource for “breaking the ice” before the world does. I can give him more info later, but it was perfect to introduce the subject with my oldest son and cover all my bases for the first round. Thank you!

Thank you so much for “The Talk”! I have read the entire book myself and just completed the second lesson with my twin daughters who are 7 years old. It has been a sweet and precious time with them and opened the door for SO many questions! We have had other talks related to sex and marriage, but even as I listened to news on Christian radio, I felt an urgency to build a foundation of a biblical worldview of sexuality and ensure that God’s plan for sex is the first one they learn. One daughter commented that the second lesson was a bit embarrassing but she felt comfortable about it since Mama is teaching her. God led me to this resource at just the right time. Thank you for offering this and I look forward to checking out “Changes” and “Relationships”.
