Avocado Salad with Bacon (Recipe)

Avocado is definitely one of my favorite foods. It only makes sense that I would figure out a way to make an avocado salad.

Not only does avocado taste fabulous on a burger, in an omlette, or as homemade guacamole, it’s also a powerhouse health food. This tasty creamy green fruit is rich in healthy fats, vitamin B6, potassium, and folate. Polyphenols and flavonoids are present in avocados as well, which are compounds that help decrease inflammation (the real enemy of your arterial walls, not cholesterol as some would have you believe).

This recipe for avocado salad makes use of another one of my favorite foods—bacon! I hope you enjoy.

What I want to know is: What are the ingredient portions for 4 people? Obviously, this is just a single portion!

    • Trisha Gilkerson says:

Good question! I didn’t even think to add that. I should edit the post. The picture is the full recipe. I could sit down and eat the whole thing myself. If it was just part of a full meal and you were using it as a side I would probably say it would be a portion for 2 people.

  5. You had me at bacon! :-) Thanks for linking at Trim Healthy Tuesday! I know you have tons of great recipes to contribute! And you can add up to 3 per week. Hint, hint. 😉

This is one of my fave side dishes. Unfortunately, nobody else in my family likes it because nobody else likes avocado. Nevermind, maybe it’s a good thing after all since I get to eat it all :)

  9. This sounds delish.

  1. […] Avocado Salad: This is one of my all-time favorite salads. How can you go wrong when avocados and bacon meet? They are two of my favorite foods. Then pair them with two of my favorite spices—cumin and chili powder—you have a match made in heaven! I was able to find everything for this salad except for the cilantro at Aldi including the lime, avocados, extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes, and bacon. […]
